Billionaire Clive Palmer renews fight with WA Premier Mark McGowan



Billionaire Clive Palmer has renewed his public fight with West Australian Premier Mark McGowan over a $30bn damages claim, warning the Labor leader “will face the music” after the state election.

Emergency legislation was passed last year blocking Mr Palmer’s right to arbitration and damages over a long-running dispute about an iron ore project.

The mining magnate had claimed he would not spend money on the March 13 election, but he has indeed splashed out on advertisements against Mr McGowan.

“When the election has come and gone, he will face the music of our claim,” Mr Palmer said in a statement on Tuesday.

“He should have followed Winston Churchill’s words that meeting jaw to jaw was better than war.
